Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on Saturday expressed his optimism over changing the stance of BNP regarding holding December 10 rally in city's Naya Paltan area.
"I hope they will hold the rally where we have given permission. We believe it. We are waiting as there is enough time," he said this while talking to journalists at Rajarbagh Police Lines.
In response to another question, he said the authority concerned is looking into the complaint they (BNP men) made on Thursday last.
On behalf of BNP, on December 1, a letter was handed over to the IGP demanding to stop filling the illegal, false and baseless or fictitious cases.
