The rail communication on the Mymensingh and the different parts of the country remained suspended as a compartment of a train derailed in Mymensingh on December 11.
The incident took place in Bolashpur area at about 7:30 am.
The Chattogram-bound Mymensingh Express train from Mymensingh veered off the tracks, halting train services on the route.
On information, a team from Mymensingh Loco Shed rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation.
According to engineer Abdur Rahim, Loco Shed In-charge of Mymensingh Railway Police Station, "A rescue train has been brought to the spot soon after the derailment of a bogie of the train. Work is underway to rescue the bogie. We hope the train service on the route will be restored very soon."
"It is not being said by when the rail communication will be normal", he added.
However, passengers have suffered as trains got stuck at different stations following the derailment.
