A Dhaka court on Monday (December 12) rejected bail petitions of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, its Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas and 222 leaders and activists of the party in a case filed over the December 7 clashes between police and BNP men in the Dhaka's Nayapaltan area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shafiuddin passed the order on Monday.
Lawyer AKM Ehsanur Rahman confirmed the matter to the media.
Lawyers Joynal Abedin, Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Kaysar Kamal and Masud Ahmed Talukder submitted petitions and sought bail for the accused.
