The ferry services were suspended for three hours on the Paturia-Daulatdia route due to dense fog early Sunday (December 18).
The suspension caused huge sufferings to travellers on these routes as hundreds of vehicles had to wait in long queues on both sides to cross the river.
Toll collection was also closed from 4:30am to 8:00am.
"Toll collection resumed after the fog cleared," said Ahsan Masud Bappi, executive engineer of Bangabandhu Bridge.
"When the fog cleared at 8:00am, all the ferries started moving on the routes", he added.
