No fare is needed for the children under 3-feet when they will board on metro rail in the city with their guardians. The first metro rail of the country is likely to be inaugurated on Wednesday (December 28). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the metro rail.
At a press conference in the capital city on Tuesday, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director M. A. N. Siddique said, "No fare is needed for the children with a height of less than three feet when they will board on metro rail with their guardians. But, a fare will be charged if they want to travel without their guardians."
He further said, "For now, the train will come from Uttara North (Diabari) Station and will directly run to Agargaon Station. The metro rail will touch other station in this route from March 26, next year."
