International Crimes Tribunal has sentenced death penalty to six people for their crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in Mymensingh's Trishal.
A bench led by the chairman of the tribunal Justice M Shahinur Islam gave the verdict on Monday (January 23).
The convicts are M Mokhlesur Rahman Mukul, M Saidur Rahman Ratan, Shamsul Haque Fakir, Nurul Haque Fakir, M Sultan Mahmud Fakir and Nakib Hossain Adil Sarkar.
Public prosecutors Sultan Mahmud and Tapas Kanti Ball represented the state in the court.
The investigation of this case started on January 26 in 2017. On December 31 of that year, the investigation agency submitted its report after the investigation.
The trial started on December 5, 2018 of the same year through charge framing.
