Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said Deputy Commissioners (DCs) will be vigilant during the month of Ramadan regarding the prices of daily commodities in the market. They are the hands of the government and they should execute the law on behalf of the government.
He came up with the assertion while talking to the reporters on Wednesday (January 25) in Osmani Memorial Auditorium on the second day of the deputy commissioners' conference.
The minster also said that none should take advantages with the price of commodities during Ramadan. He also directed the DCs to take strict measures if it happens.
Tipu Munshi also said, "I got only two minutes in my session. The month of Ramadan is ahead of us. I asked the DCs to be watchful so that no one can take any kind of advantage with the price during Ramadan. Deputy Commissioners should also be aware of the consumers' right.''
