A total of 642 people were killed due to road accident across the country in January. At least 978 others were injured during this time.
A report signed by Secretary General of Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, Md Mozammel Haque Chowdhury, said it at a press briefing on Saturday (February 4).
According the report, around 51.60 percent of the total victims were pedestrians. The accident rate was 5.3 percent up in January this year than the same time of the previous year. However, the rate of death was decreased by 4.6 percent.
