Four people were killed and 30 others were injured as a Habiganj-bound passenger bus turned turtle on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Baganbari area under Bahubol upazila of the district on Thursday (February 16) evening.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Bahuboli Police Station and local sources said that the accident occurred in the area at 6:30 pm, leaving three people dead on the spot and 31 others injured critically. Among the injured, one succumbed to his injury on the way to hospital.
The injured were rushed to the hospital. The reason behind the accident could not be known immediately.
When contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubol Police Station Rakibul Islam said that he was trying to ease the vehicular movement on the road as traffic jam was created due to the accident in the area.
