The national Vitamin A plus campaign will start across the country from today (February 20) at 10am with a target to provide the capsule to 2.20 crore children.
Earlier Health Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated the programme in the capital.
National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign is going on across the country under the slogan “Eat vitamin A, reduce the risk of infant mortality”. In this campaign, the government has targeted feeding vitamin ‘A’ capsules to 2 crore children in the country.
Vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign started in 1 lakh 20 thousand centers; i.e.; 1.20 lakh centers across the country at 8 am on Monday. This activity will continue till 4 pm.
The government has continuously provided vitamin ‘A’ capsules twice a year since 2010. As a result, the number of children suffering from vitamin A deficiency disease has decreased by 4 percent.
