5 killed in Bogura road accident

Five people were killed as a passenger bus rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sujabad area under Shajahanpur upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

Two of the deceased were identified as Hajrat Ali, 35, son of Abdul Goni, resident of Kadamtali village under Gabtoli upazila of the district and Badsha Mia, 65, resident of Berer Bari Sardar Para village under Dhunat upazila of Bogura.

Witnesses said, "A Dhaka-bound passenger bus rammed into the auto-rickshaw in the area at 12:30pm, leaving three passengers of the auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and two others injured critically."

The injured two succumbed to their injuries while they were taken to the hospital.

However, the driver and helper of the bus fled the scene immediately after the accident. The passengers also got off the bus. Later, an angry mob torched the bus. On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

Sub-Inspector of Shahjahanpur Police Station, Mohammad Ali, said confirmed the matter to the media.
