Six US congressmen urge Biden to take action to stop human rights violations in Bangladesh

Six US Congressmen have urged US President Joe Biden to act quickly to put an end human rights abuses by the Government of Bangladesh's and to provide opportunity for the Bangladeshi people to hold free and fair parliamentary elections.

US Congressman Bob Good posted the letter to President Biden on his official website on June 2.

The letter was also signed by Congressmen Keith Self, Scott Perry, Barry Moore, Tim Burchett, Warren Davidson, and Scott Perry. All of them are from opposition Republican Party.

It said that several NGOs have documented hundreds of incidents of human rights abuses by the administration of Sheikh Hasina since she took power in January 2009 — including reports by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Freedom House, and even the United Nations.
