Denmark to provide Tk 474cr as grant to Bangladesh, framework agreement signed

Bangladesh and Denmark signed a Framework Agreement of Tk474 crore for implementing the Bilateral Development Programme 2023-2028.

A grant based Framework Agreement of DKK 300 million (BDT 474 crore approximately) has been signed in Dhaka on June 7 between the Government of the Kingdom of Dermark and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh for implementing the Bilateral Development Programme 2023-2028.

he strategic objectives of the Framework Agreement will be complemented by cross-cutting priorities such as the
strengthening of democracy, empowerment of youth and improving gender equality, through empowering women and girls.

Ms. Sharifa Khan, Secretary, Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance and H.E Ms. Wimie Estrup Petersen, Ambassador, Royal Danish Embassy, Dhaka signed the Framework Agreement on behalf of the each Government. Besides, the high officials of Economic Relations Division and Embassy of Denmark in Dhaka were present in the occasion of signing ceremony.

The Goverrment of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (GOB) have 50 years long history of bilateral cooperation. During this period Dermark has been supporting Bangladesh in areas of Agriculture, Water and Sanitation, Transport Sectors, Climate change, Human Rights and Good Governance Programme. Denmark is also involved in commercial activities through the Trade Council.
