Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cast her vote at the Dhaka City College centre here this morning in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad election.
She cast her franchise just after starting the balloting at 8 in the morning. After casting her vote Sheikh Hasina said the main party boycotting Sunday's national elections was a "terrorist organisation", adding that she was trying to ensure her country remained democratic.
She told reporters, "the BNP is a terrorist organisation." Hasina added that the poll would be conducted fairly and urged the public to cast their votes.
"I am trying my best to ensure that democracy should continue in this country," Hasina said.
