Schools will remain open during Ramadan

There is no bar to keeping primary and secondary schools open during Ramadan, ruled the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today. 

The Appellate Division of the SC stayed the High Court order that on Sunday that the schools will remain closed during Ramadan.

As a result, the primary and secondary schools across the country open for the first 10 and 15 days respectively during the month of Ramadan.

A three-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan passed the order on Tuesday.

On February 8, the government amended the holiday list for educational institutions keeping the regular activities of secondary schools open for 15 days during Ramadan.

The Ministry of Education issued a notice in this regard.
