EU naval ship deployed near hijacked MV Abdullah

The European Union Naval Force (EUNAVFOR) has deployed a warship under its anti-piracy mission Operation Atalanta near the hijacked Bangladeshi-flagged vessel MV Abdullah.

EU Naval Force published a notification through X handle (former tweet) on Thursday night. 

It said, “Since the end of November 2023, multiple incidents related to piracy have taken place in the Western Indian Ocean. Three merchant vessels have been assaulted, one still under pirate control, captured on the 12th March: MV ABDULLAH.”

EU Naval Force also release three photos regarding their activities. In one photo, two members of the EU Naval Force look on from the warship towards the MV Abdullah ship.

On March 12, the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah with 23 crew members, was hijacked by Somali pirates.
