Bangladesh recorded 11,434 Covid-19 infections today, with the coronavirus claiming 12 fatalities overnight. In a regular daily announcement, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) noted, "The country reported 28.49 percent Covid-19 positive instances as 40,134 samples were examined in the preceding 24 hours."
In the last 24 hours, 7,296 coronavirus cases have been reported in Dhaka city and upazilas of the district, with six Covid-19 deaths confirmed.
According to the official figure, the virus has killed 28,192 people and infected 16,64,616 people so far, according to the announcement.
After another 752 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last day, the total number of people who have recovered has risen to 15,55,597.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 93.45 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered among infected people from the start of the pandemic, while 1.69 percent diedthe DGHS statistics showed.
According to the DGHS, 12,329 people died in Dhaka division, 5,713 in Chattogram division, 2,068 in Rajshahi division, 3,624 in Khulna division, 952 in Barishal division, 1,279 in Sylhet division, 1,376 in Rangpur division, and 851 in Mymensingh division.
