From midnight on Sunday, fishermen will be busy again with nets and boats across the country for fishing Hilsha.
Earlier, the government had imposed a 22-day ban on all types of fishing to protect mother hilsa during the breeding season.
Similar restrictions were in place in the Padma and Meghna rivers in Chandpur, which are among the country's six sanctuaries.
The catching, selling, hoarding, and transporting of hilsa were banned from October 13 to November 3.
Meanwhile, during the ban, the river police detained a total of 600 fishermen across the country for flouting the ban.
