BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas were released from jail on bail on Monday (January 9).
The BNP leaders were released at around 5:50pm. The jailer of Dhaka Central Jail Mahbubul Islam confirmed the matter to the media.
Earlier on December 9 both Fakhrul and Abbas were detained after a clash broke out in front of the BNP's Nayapaltan office on December 7, leaving one dead and many others injured.
A case was filed with Paltan Model Police Station in this connection on December 8.
