Newly elected Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) mayor Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy has taken oath today (February 9).
The swearing-in ceremony was held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined it virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban.
27 newly elected councilors and 9 women councilors of NCC also took oath. Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam administered the oath to the councilors.
The Awami League’s Selina Hayat Ivy has won the mayoral race in the Narayanganj City Corporation election on January 16.
Ruling Awami League candidate Ivy was elected Narayanganj City Corporation mayor for the third consecutive term. She is a daughter of Ali Ahmed Chunka, the first chairman of Narayanganj Municipality.
