BB to release fresh banknotes marking Eid-ul-Fitr

In celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, the central bank is releasing new banknotes through commercial banks. The Communication and Publications Department (DCP) of Bangladesh Bank announced this information in a press release on Sunday.

According to the press release, new banknotes of denominations 5, 20, and 50 taka will be available for exchange at 80 branches of various scheduled banks in Dhaka and at different offices of Bangladesh Bank. However, the exchange service will not be available on weekends and public holidays.

It is also stated that the same individual will not be allowed to receive new banknotes more than once.

When Will the New Banknotes Be Released?

The new banknotes will be available in the market starting from March 19 in celebration of Eid. The distribution will continue until March 25, excluding weekends and public holidays.

Customers can visit these branches within the specified period to exchange their old notes for new ones.
