Update : 23 Dec 2021, 14:37

A woman has allegedly gang raped in Cox's Bazar while visiting there with husband and child. Her husband and son were kidnapped by a group of guys from the city's Laboni Point, and she was allegedly raped several times.

According to RAB-15 Commander Lt Col Khairul Islam, the woman was rescued from a motel called Zia Guest Inn about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday.

A manhunt has been initiated by the elite force to apprehend the culprits of the tragedy.

The woaman, her husband, and their eight-month-old son left their home in Dhaka's Jatrabari early on Wednesday and checked into a hotel on Cox's Bazar's Holiday Mor.

Her husband and an unknown man were involved in an altercation that afternoon after they bumped into each other at the crowded Laboni Point market.  After that the victim's 8-month-old infant and husband were then kidnapped in front of the Tourist Golf Course later that day.

Three men took the woman behind a tea kiosk near the Golf Course and raped her.

Later, they took her to Zia Guest Inn and raped her in turns once again. The three men then threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the rape and locked the door from the outside before leaving the place.

“We rescued the family after receiving information about the matter. We have so far identified two of the three perpetrators,” said Major Hasan.

The authorities sent the rape survivor to the one-stop crisis centre of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for treatment.
