The Gunijan Songbordhona (reception of noted personalities) and "Belgachi Utsab-2023" which was organized by the Dhaka Belgachi Welfare Society was held at Dhaka University Gymnasium ground on March 10.
Residents of Belgachi of Dhaka and local representatives of Belgachi area of Rajbari district, businessmen, media professionals, local dignitaries and teachers and students were present in the event.
Former teacher of Belgachi AZ High School Swargiya Devendra Nath Roy, former headmaster of Chandpur High School and former general secretary of Rajbari district Jatiya Party Md. Motahar Hossain, founder president of Dhaka Belgachi Kalyan Samiti Swargiya Piyush Kanti Saha, former president Tamizur Rahman were awarded posthumously.
The list of awards was vast as people have been marking great achievements. The language soldier of Ekushey and columnist Professor Abdul Ghafur, former bureau chief of AFP, senior journalist Golam Tahabur, former chairman of Chandani Union MA Hakeem Mia, former chairman of Khanganj Union Parishad Akramuzzaman (Ranj) Chowdhury and former president of Belgachi Kalyan Samity in Dhaka, Md. Abdul Mannan were also awarded.
Moushumi Das, the senior assistant secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, entrepreneur Nadia Mohamed, Mehedi Hasina Parveen, chairman of Ratandia Union Parishad of Belgachi, Mizanur Rahman Majnu, chairman of Madapur Union Parishad, former chairman of Chandani Union Parishad, AKM Sirajul Alam Chowdhury were given mementoes. Former chairman of Khanganj Union Parishad, Atahar Hossain Takdeer. Special honor were given to the president of the association Engineer Akhil Kumar Biswas, vice president Bijan Kumar Saha, M Rajab Ali, general secretary SM Shafayet Hossain Sabuj, organizing secretary Md Rafiq Uzzaman along with Noor A Alam Piaru, Zakir Hossain, Kalim Uddin, Aslam Uddin Mollah, Abdul Karim Sheikh, Subrata Saha, Ahsanul Haque, Ashraful Haque, Mohiuddin Madhu, Miraj Sardar, Sujan Molla, Billal Hossain.
The highlight of the show was the musical performance of Bankers Voyage contestant Aminur Rashid (Nahid), regular artist of Gollachhoot, Laxmi Roy Prema of SATV and SM Shafayet Hossain Sabuj, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
