The New year is upon us. While New Year won't look like they have in years past, the season can still be happy and bright by embracing the changes and upholding traditions.
While most of us are going to celebrate thirty first night at home due to Omicron this year, we can still celebrate and get dressed and arrange a virtual party to ring in 2022. Make the most of this season by staying safe and join with your friends and family members with the power of technology. Host a virtual party via Zoom, Messenger, FaceTime, skype or other video chatting platform in this thirty first night.
With no crowds around, this is the time to experiment something different. Encourage your friends to dress up with you. Send each other as many crazy pictures as you can. Challenge each other to create over the top outfits or best makeup.
Find your light
Place a soft light like a selfie ring light by the camera so when you get up close, it highlights the angles of your face in a flattering way. Then, get some floor or table lamps to illuminate the room around you. Pick a cozy spot in the house before logging on.
Set the Scene
Make sure your camera is located at a higher angle than your usual work meeting, as you'll likely be standing, dancing, and moving in and out of the frame. You'll want the camera to be at face level or a little higher to create the best angles and capture you in the best light. Consider installing a virtual backdrop on your video call, so it looks like you're partying in Times Square or inside of a disco ball. Or you can order a fun backdrop online to frame the space and set the stage for a perfect party room.
Add some colour
Just because we can’t go out and celebrate at the tracks right now, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the unique and exciting look. If you want to shine brightly for a virtual New Year's Eve event, choose bold colors or bright patterns to help you stand out from the crowd. Jewel tones like emerald or royal blue and metallics like silver and gold help to focus everyone's eyes on you and your stunning outfit. Bring the sparkle with silvers or rainbow sequins to really light up your spot on the screen. Women's dresses are an effortless way to bring color to your entire outfit. Still, chic blouses and dopattas will make an equal impact. Pair it with pashmina shawls or sweaters.
Shoe
Heels, or no heels? This is probably our favorite part of dressing up at home. Of course its up to you. Take this time to try different heels out, see what works for you.
Accessory
Feel free to get creative with accessories as well. Accessorize with fun statement earrings and some chunky jewelry.
Makeup
Even if you don’t normally use foundation, it’s a must for evening out your complexion for a digital celebration. If you prefer a less heavy feel, just use a tinted moisturizer or a concealer where you most need it. Seal it in with a little loose powder to set it and minimize those pores.
Create perfectly shaped eyebrows by filling them in with an eyebrow pencil. After all, you’ll want to showcase your main features. Video can often make our faces look weirdly non-dimensional. So, use a little earthy-toned eye shadow under your eyes, in the hollows of your cheeks, and along your jawline to give your face a more dimensional, structured look. Go for bold red lips and some rosy cheek stain.
