Well, first you need to know what snoring actually is.  Not every person you know might have the habit of snoring. It is mostly common among people who are older than 40, have excessive weight, smoking habits or breathing issues.

These factors lead to enlarged tonsils, enlarged tongue, or excess weight around the neck, making the airway too narrow for air to travel in the lungs. This results in throat vibrations, making the snoring sound. It is mainly considered as an issue when your snoring gets louder and more consistent day by day.

Here are a list of symptoms below to understand that you are dealing with a snoring disease:

If you snore, then you have sleep apnea.

Every 2 out of 4 percent of the adults have got abstractive sleep apnea. It is quite a complicated disease. Because your breathing is not interrupted when you are snoring usually. But if you are suffering from apnea, it disrupts your breathing process several times and thus these symptoms conclude that you might have a heart disease.Your intensity of snoring can lead to narrowing down your arteries in the neck due to fatty deposits, which might  increase your chances of getting a stroke.

Lack of concentration during daytime is one of the ill effects of snoring, causing daytime sleepiness.

This is a fact that older people have a tendency of regularly snoring more.

But it is also a fact that people of any age can snore. But generally the nose muscles of the older people get weaker and this eventually leads to snoring.

Snoring for 30 seconds or more can lead to dropping your blood oxygen level upto 80% or less. This is extremely dangerous for your body and requires immediate help.

It is completely a myth that only men generally have the issue of snoring. Among every four women one of them snores at least once in a week. This issue can increase more during menopause and pregnancy.

Does sleeping pills help to get rid of snoring? Not at all! Sleeping pills usually helps your body muscles to relax, which eventually increases your chances of snoring.

Other than these, Irritability, and mood swings caused due to snoring can even lead to anxiety and mild depression, leading to mental health problems.

Now that you are aware of whether snoring is bad for your health or not,  and what the health risks can be from it. So,  the next step is to identify if you have any of the snoring problem symptoms. This can be easily understood by Asking your bed partner, or recording the patterns of your sleep. So that you can take adequate actions depending on your sleeping pattern.
